Terms of Service
Last updated: 14 September 2026
1. Acceptance
By signing in with Google and using RankGrep, you agree to these terms. RankGrep is currently a V1 preview: features, limits, and behavior may change as it develops.
2. What RankGrep does
RankGrep runs a safe, read-only crawl of websites you add, surfaces technical SEO issues with real evidence, and can prepare AI-suggested fixes for your review. Nothing is changed on a live website without your explicit approval.
3. Your account
You sign in with Google — RankGrep never asks for or stores your Google password. You’re responsible for what happens under your account, and for only adding websites you own or are authorized to audit and modify.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Add or crawl a website you don’t own or don’t have permission to audit
- Use RankGrep to attack, overload, or scrape sites outside its intended safe-crawl limits
- Attempt to bypass the approval step before a repair is applied
- Interfere with the service or access it through unauthorized means
5. Repairs and approvals
RankGrep prepares proposed fixes with a before/after preview. Approving a proposal records your decision, but only issues mapped to an exact, executable field actually change your live site. On a connected WordPress site those fields are the SEO title, the meta description, the H1 heading, the opening paragraph, and the description of a category or tag archive.
Two of those reach beyond page settings and into the page itself: editing an H1 or an opening paragraph rewrites that text inside the page content itself, and on a site without the RankGrep connector plugin an approved SEO title may be written to the WordPress title of the page, which is the name it is known by in your dashboard. Applying repairs requires installing that connector plugin on your site.
After applying any repair RankGrep re-fetches the live page to confirm the change took effect, and automatically restores the original value if it did not. You remain responsible for reviewing a proposal before approving it, and for keeping your own backups of any site you connect.
6. Plans, payment and refunds
RankGrep is sold as a monthly subscription. Every plan includes every feature; plans differ only in how many websites you may hold at once. Adding a website beyond your plan’s limit is refused until you upgrade or remove another — websites you already have keep working and keep being audited either way.
There is no free trial. Instead, if RankGrep isn’t right for you, you can ask for a full refund within 14 days of a payment, without having to justify the decision. The Refund Policy sets out how, and what happens to your account afterwards.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancelling stops the next payment; your plan continues to the end of the period you have already paid for. Payments are processed by Paddle as merchant of record, so Paddle is the seller shown on your receipt and issues any refund.
Prices may change. A change never applies to a period you have already paid for, and we will tell you before it affects a renewal.
7. No warranty
RankGrep is provided “as is,” as a preview product. We don’t guarantee search ranking improvements, uninterrupted availability, or that every issue will be detected or fixable. Use your own judgment before approving any change to a live website.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, RankGrep isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including any impact on a website you connect or repair.
9. Termination
You can stop using RankGrep and disconnect any connected account at any time. We may suspend access for accounts that violate these terms.
10. Changes
As a preview product, these terms may change. Material changes will update the date above.
